Course Information
This course describes principles of VOR/Doppler principles to include the following; The VOR ground segment, including conventional VORs, the reference phase, variable reference phase, the arrangement of reference and variable phase signals and Doppler VOR; It continues with discussions on the types of VORs, en-route, terminal and test VORs; VOR identification, VOR monitoring; the VOR airborne segment and The presentation and interpretation of aircraft course and bearing devices; VOR inflight procedures, coverages and ranges, homing/tracking and holding; and information on the coverage, range and errors/accuracy of the VORs.
