010-05 RULES OF THE AIR

Course Information

010 05 01 00 DEFINITIONS IN ICAO ANNEX 2 At the Chicago Convention, Article 12, ‘Rules of the Air ‘, were adopted and they require that each contracting state shall comply with the Standards and Recommended Practices related to overflight and landing privileges with Member States. These rules were then made part of Annex 2 to the Convention with the title ‘International Standards and Recommended Practices-Rules of the Air ‘. The standards of ‘Rules of the Air ‘ are the minimum requirements for the member states. The adoption of the minimum standard of the ‘Rules of the Air ‘ is to ensure the safety of flight above the contracting states territory. If it is desirable, Member States could enhance the rules to increase the safety, however they should notify these changes to the ICAO. Courses are constantly monitored and updated when major changes in authority documentation are released.
