022-08 TRIMS – YAW DAMPER – FLIGHT ENVELOPE PROTECTION

Course Information

The purpose of the trim system is to relieve the pilot of forces on the aircraft controls while maintaining aircraft attitude. On light aircraft, the trim is provided in all three axes through mechanical linkages to trim tabs on the control surfaces. Trim systems are used to relieve the pilot of the need to maintain constant pressure on the flight controls. Larger aircraft usually use electrical actuators to move the trim tabs. Courses are constantly monitored and updated when major changes in authority documentation is released.
